week 14 : The ASEAN Community 2015


The ASEAN Community 2015



I came to class on time. First of all we reviewed ASEAN and answered ASEAN lesson.

Then, teacher gave us to divide about 4 or 5 person per one group. 
The first topic was 'The impact of the ASEAN Community'.
My group has Kittiporn, Pornchita, Aranya and the last one was me.

The impact of ASEAN Community

- Free trade Area of ASEAN.
- Jobs and opportunity will increase.
- Transport will be better.
- Technology will be better.

- The prices of products will be cheaper.
- The exports of products will be widespread around. 

- The negotiation of prices will be effective. 
- Economic and business will grow.
- Exchange culture each other.
- It will happen the crime.


Teacher gave us to send someone in oue groups to present. My group that person was Kittiporn.


Next topic was 'How to prepare yourself for ASEAN Community'.
 My group that person was me.


How to prepare yourself for ASEAN Community

- Having background knowledge in ASEAN.
- Opening to accept of the differences of people in society
 For example, 
- Exchanging culture language each other.
- Having Analyzing skill to solve the problem.
- Practicing again and again Especially.
- English language using the Internet to be benefit in working.
- Having the discipline to yourself and people around yourself.
- Learning other language such as Vietnamese language.
- Learning about the history of other countries in ASEAN including theirs language.

After that, teacher read text about ASEAN twice times and assigned us to make note about what she read.I thought some words was new but didn't have problem. We shared the information about what the main idea and presented in front of the class.




This spider web was 'Research on English language reading'. 
It was the new lesson in the next class. 

Finally, teacher gave us to read the text as fast as possible and assigned us to do the exercise in sheet as homework.

week 13 : read faster (continued)


          We started to learn late because power outage. Therefore we must to change class room.
When we started to learn first of all she asked us about homework and answer homework.

          Then, we read the passage from beginning to end. Do not stop and do not go back over what we have read and checked answers.



Obstacles to faster effective reading

- very old people and very young children learn to read in mush the same way.
- Sometimes possible to see three words at once without moving the eyes.
- Some students get discouraged when they first start reading faster.
- Should read a book that has more than five or six new words per page.
- Vocalizing will prevent readers from reading at speeds of over 280 w.p.m.

          After that we read ' Hints for reading practice and checked answers again. Teacher helped to check answers and edited some answer was wrong.



Hints for speed reading practice 

Do not try to take in each word separately.

- Title and paragraph heading can help you to get the outline of a pasage.

- The topic sentence of an information-giving paragraph in English is most often at the beginning.




Dictionaries slow you down!

- If you want to know the words mean, make a note and check later.
- You will not to use a dictionary.


The ASEAN Community 2015




Teacher gave us to write spiderweb on the board that about 'The ASEAN Community' and I wrote one.

          After that, we watched the video and wrote down the words that us have seen and heard.



      Asean stands for Association of South-east Asians Nations.The ASEAN community was formed 1967 and has ten members countries : Brunei, Laos, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, the philippines, Myanmar and Thailand. 


The three doors of the ASEAN Community are as follows: people, prosperity and peace.

week 12 : Ann Lander (continued)

         
           I came to class on time. We continued to learn 'Ann Lander' from last class. 








          Teacher gave us to write the answers. I went out to the board or write the answer and teacher helped us to check answers.Then, teacher gave us to read and advice to the writer. I thought some words in letter were new but didn't have a problem.





          After that we started to learn the new lesson. Teacher gave us to write spiderweb about "what is your obstacles to faster reading?" on the board. 




          We ticked in the box what statement we agree form reading by skim in the text. A obstacles to faster effective reading it's very long. So, didn't have enough time to read passage and do the exercise. Teacher assigned us to do obstacles to faster effective reading for homework.

week 11 : Ann Lander, Descriptions of Books and Novels


26 October 2015 

          I came to class on time. We had mid-term test for 1 hour. I though should to have time more than this.After finished test teacher gave three books to us to see and read phrase or sentence on front cover and back cover. 
          
          Then, teacher gave sheet us. We read it about short descriptions of books and novels by skim. That short descriptions are

          Hundreds of Ann Landers loyal readers have requested that newspapers continue to publish her columns. These letters originally appeared in 1999. We read and wrote answer in A,B from the text. 

          After that, Teacher assigned us to do homework for C, D and all exercise in sheet before assigned us to read and gave us advice to the writer.

          For the question in the last page. My opinion is The child might indulge since born. You should to teach a good thing, should to give them to see good a good thing and you should to be good example for her.






week 10 : West meets East


19 October 2015


          Today I continued to learn 'West meets East' from last week. First of all we discussed about celebrities, food and product from another Asian countries with our partner together.

          Then, teacher assigned us to make sentence about 'if we met a foreigner living in our country' , 'What question would we most want to ask?'. I go out to speak "How do you come with?" only one sentence. but I write other sentence in my sheet such as How do you fell about this country, Have you ever come to Thailand, some thing like that. The words in sheet were new for me but I didn't have a problem because I have dictionary on my phone. 
          

          After that, we read "Expat in Asian" it made me met some sentence that was 'We just don't confuse "love" with control'. Finally, we wrote short answer to question and accorded to the text.

week 9 : West meets East


5  october  2015

        Today I came to class on time. We started to learn a new lesson  that was "West meets East". Teacher opened to show picture on her power point to us.

          Then we did exercises about the famous celebrities, products, foods, movies, TV shows from Asian cultures in the West, shared our opinion with our partner and discussed the question with our partner about 'Who are the most famous celebrities (actor, singer, etc.)', 'Who are some products popular' in my country.

          
        We read 'The "Asianization" of the United States'. I thought It was difficult because the vocabularies was too hard. I solve problem by search on dictionary.

week 8 : fashion (continued)


          4 October 2015

             I came to class on time. We continued to lean Fashion from last class. The topic was hairstyles. Teacher assigned us to look at the pictures and solve the anagrams about hair.

            We read by skim and scan again on the plot about 'Spitting hairs and check answers to the previous exercise. Nothing was difficult for me because the words wewe easy. Then, teacher told "brake 15 minute". I felt glad and immediately go out to buy something at cafeteria. When we were buying something , it began to rain heavy. So, we can't go to class. I felt serious and wait the rain stop. Time later, we can go back to class. After that teacher assigned us to divide groups of 5 people for discuss us hairstyles.

week 7 : fashion

On Sep 14, 2015 
         
          I came to class on time. Teacher opened picture about fashion to lesson in order to import in her power point. I remember last class teacher assigned us to do homework about hairstyle.






I think her hairstyle look good and beautiful for me.

          
           Then, we read 'Fashion ? Con fashion !' by scan before found the main idea and discuss about it with friends. I met a problem about some word because some word was new for me. I solved that problem by searched on dictionary online, take note and remember. After that teacher told brake 15 minute. I came back to class and learnt Grammar. It was "Used to" the structure is 'S + used to + (n)Ving'.

          I think TV programs in my country good and true to life such as Sonsart, Hairstyle and another fashion. 




            If some student from western come to learn in my class it's excited and glad because we will receive to practice my English language, study about culture and fashion. The last, teacher assigned us to do homework " Essential skills".




week 6 : Technology (continued)


On Sep 7 , 2015          
           I came to class on time. I had test about ' Healthy Diet and Natural Disasters ' for 1 hour. I felt serious with my answer because it's difficult for me. I learnt to continued from last week. we learnt about music news ,views ,write the answer in the text and read by scan. I hadn't a problem about reading because words easy and nothing difficult. Then, teacher told us "brake 15 minute". It make me felt relax. When we started to learn again. Teacher distribute sheet 'What is a search engine' for my group, assigned us to discuss with another group and assigned to sent agent go out to talk in front of the room. I thought it's difficult for someone can't understand one of that is me. I think we should to practice for listening. Teacher assigned us to write information. For this class I thought, I want to go bed andI known teacher thought that because she told us.

week 5 : Technology

I came to class on time. I learnt " Unit 3 Today's Technology ". Teacher assigned to speak with friend about Technology News before I started to learnt it. I took with friend about Water spider robot. It can whip quality water. I read by scan, summarized and shared the main idea with friend. Then, teacher told to brake around 15 minute. I feel hungry very much. So, I went to buy something at cafeteria. I thought some words easy but some words difficult. I have to search it in dictionary. I think technology develop on the time. So, we should to up date on the time too.

week 4 : Natural disasters (continued)


         
          On Monday august 24, 2015



          I came to class be on time. I learnt news story 4, 5. 


It about Japan earthquake and California fires. 



          I tolk with my friend about news story 4, 5 after I read news 

story by reading the main words.  I thought nothing easy and some 

words difficult for me.  




I think, It is scary and caused a lot of damage.

          Teacher came to class room. She checks student name. 

Then, I started to learn Natural Disasters and toke about Natural 

Disasters news. Someone didn't search for new by print, teacher 

directed to knock on the chair. We have to careful natural disasters for ourselves. After that, I present about healthy and unhealthy food in English.

           Teacher came to class be on time. I started to learn

I thought words remain difficult and nothing easy for me.

week 1 : Introdution and Healthy Diet

      
       
          On Monday 3 August , 2015
       It was my first time that I studied with Dr. Usa. She is very punctual. I was really streeful about English Reading Strategies because I never study this subject before. I made some activity in class for such as 1. match the words  2. find the main idea from news. When I read the newspaper that I found a big problem. I don't know meaning specific words and hard words but I can slove the problem by dictionary. I know the health foods and unhealthy foods. I will eat jung food less for my health.
